I have employed Powell, a bad ass design and architecture firm, and Perkins Construction, a bad ass construction company. So things are underway.
My Vision
I am a serial entrepreneur, so I know there’s every chance in the world we’ll need to vector and do something different, but imagine this…
The lounge will employ a full-time salaried band leader (BL). BL will hire, organize, arrange, and conduct the Starry Night Players. They will play two 1.5-hour shows 5 nights a week plus a matinee show on Saturday and Sunday. On Mondays and Tuesdays (BL’s days off), there will be some other live musical performances TBD. The Starry Night Players will play interesting arrangements of songs we all know. I’m imagining that will include a fair amount of Yacht Rock classics.
The dining hall seats 66. You’ll need to purchase a $25 ticket to the show to get one of those seats. The limited menu for supper includes a steak option, a couple of fish options, a chicken option, a pasta option, and at least one vegetarian/vegan option. Of course, sides and appetizers, soups and salads, and desserts will also be available.
I’m imagining the drink menu will be prodigious!
It is a significant part of my vision that the service be outstanding in the lounge.
The 6 PM show will be over at 7:30 PM. That leaves us 45 minutes to turn the dining room completely around for the 8:15 PM show. That show is over at 9:45. The front section of tables will be removed to make room for a dance floor from 10 PM till closing. The DJ will present music you can dance to, or just hang out. Mostly dancified songs we’re all familiar with (a theme!). And by all means, order a couple of $17 drinks while you’re at it. My research indicates having an option that is not EDM or Country could be very popular!
There are 60 more seats in the outdoor patio area. You don’t need a ticket to sit there and there’s no set schedule for coming and going. Drinks and a diverse, impressive menu of charcuterie boards will be available there.
I’m going to need help with all of this. If you or someone you know might be willing to help me pull this off, text me and let’s set up a time to chat.
